Would you like to know how Maastricht used to defend itself against attacks? Then visit the two ingenious structures that transformed Maastricht into one of the most unique fortified cities in the Netherlands.

 The tour starts at the ancient Fort St Pieter, an impressive structure on the northern slope of the famous St Pietersberg hill. Your guide will explain the history of the fort and show you all its ins and outs.

Before accompanying you on a twenty-minute walk to the Waldeckpark. This small city park features several old ramparts, walls with embrasures, and a tall bastion. But that's not all. The guide will then open a red door to reveal the city's fascinating underground past: the Kazematten tunnels. Discover these unique structures for yourself.
