Culinary enjoyment in Maastricht's historic city centre is what you can expect during the Maastricht Taste Promenade. One of our guides will take you through the historic centre of Maastricht where you'll stop at several unique locations along the way to become acquainted with local artisanal delicacies.
The first stop is the renowned wine merchant Thiessen Wijnkoopers to sample a delicious glass of Maastricht Apostelhoeve wine. You'll then catch the aroma of freshly roasted coffee at Maison Blanche Dael, a traditional coffee roaster and tea packer. At Biertaverne de Gouverneur you can enjoy a refreshing craft beer. Between 1848 and 1929, two generations of the Marres family brewed their beer right here on this location. In the oldest still-operating water mill in the Netherlands, you will then be treated to a lovely cup of coffee or tea and a slice of freshly-baked Limburg vlaai (sweet tart). A drink at Café In De Karkol ensures that you experience the true spirit of Maastricht. This hidden café called ‘snail's shell’ (karkol in the local dialect) in the heart of the beautiful Stokstraatkwartier is a little more difficult to find, but certainly worth a visit!
If you want to continue drinking with your group, you're at the right address in Maastricht!
